Building Physical, Mental and Social Resilience Through Diving
Wyvern Resilience is a not-for-profit organisation run by veterans for the veteran community. We utilise dive training as a catalyst to facilitate physical, mental and social wellbeing and healthy living habits.
“Our greatest glory is not in never falling, but in rising every time we fall.”
– Confucius
Our diving courses and activities are conducted in conjunction with physical, mental and social wellbeing education. These strategies have been tried and tested over decades of service in highly challenging conditions and in adverse environments.
Some our current programs
Open Water Diver course – 2 days residential
Next course – 27 – 29 Sept 2024 @ the Veteran Transition Centre
Build your confidence and add a fun and meaningful social activity to your life. We will spend two days in rural retreat learning diving skills and practicing general wellness strategies, which will allow you to manage stress and anxiety in all aspects of your life.
Open Water diver course – 2 days non-residential
Next course: 21 – 23 June 2024 @ Preston Point
Meet each day for three days to challenge yourself and learn the theory and skills to safely conduct a scuba dive. Along the way our instructor will share insights into maintaining healthy physical, mental and social wellbeing.
Experience and reflect
Dive education is provided in conjunction with science-based wellness strategies to allow you to practice the principles in real-time under the mentorship of fellow veterans.
Building a strong veteran community
After attending one of our dive programs you will be invited to connect with other veterans as a member of the Wanderers Dive Club. The club meets regularly for social dives and courses. These activities will allow you to continue engaging with this rewarding and enjoyable pastime whilst building friendships within the veteran community.
Support us
Wyvern Resilience predominantly funds it’s programs through the support of private and institutional donors. We maximise every dollar by collaborating with other Ex-Service Organisations in our programs and theirs. We can further expand the support we provide to veterans with help from the wider community.
